Circumcision          Genesis 17                      (page 50, 24-Hour Bible, by Chuck Missler)

…every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised,

  • Vitamin K, a clotting element, is not formed until the 5th to the 7th day.
  • Prothrombin is also necessary (3rd day: 30% of normal; (see note below)
  • 8th day: peaks at 110%, then levels off at 100% of normal).
  • How did Moses know to circumcise on the 8th day? (Gen 17:1).

How did he know?

Ge 17:10 This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant

you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

Ge 17:11 You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant

between me and you.

Ge 17:12 For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must

be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a

foreigner—those who are not your offspring.

Ge 17:13 Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be

circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant.

Ge 17:14 Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be

cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”

NOTES: WIKiPEDIA;        Circumcision is the removal of some or all of the foreskin (prepuce) from the penis.[1] The word "circumcision" comes from Latin circum (meaning "around") and cædere (meaning "to cut").                  Early depictions of circumcision are found in cave drawings and Ancient Egyptian tombs, though some pictures may be open to interpretation.[2][3][4] Male circumcision is a commandment from God in Judaism.[5]

NOTES: WIKiPEDIA;       Prothrombin aka. thrombin is produced by the enzymatic cleavage of two sites on prothrombin by activated Factor X (Xa).    Thrombin (activated Factor II [IIa]) is a coagulation protein that has many effects in the coagulation cascade In human beings the level prothrombin in the blood stream increases after birth and typically peaks on the 8th day after which the prothrombin level lowers to normal levels.[1]      Activation of prothrombin is crucial in physiological and pathological coagulation.
